A story-driven 3D action, adventure and survival-horror game in the dark medieval world of Temnorid. Explore ruined villages and ancient dungeons, fight what lives there, solve their riddles and uncover the secrets of the world.

About the game

Temnorid Legends is a series of separate stories. Each legend has its own hero, plot, mood and ending: some are about wars and heroic deeds, others about adventure, intrigue, vanishings or horrors from beyond. All of them share the same controls, cameras and combat.

Exploration

Fixed cinematic shots, like the classic survival-horror games. The camera changes by itself as you move, and you walk relative to the shot you started in, so it never turns you around by surprise.

Combat

When danger comes the camera slides over your shoulder and you can look around freely: attack, block with the shield, roll out of the way. The fixed shots return when it is over.

Cinematic

Scripted shots for the moments of the story: a shape at the window, a ritual room, a guardian rising, a sunrise.

Graphics are simple placeholder shapes for now. The game is built to be played first and polished later.

The first demo: The Abandoned Village

About 15 to 20 minutes. A small settlement on the border of Temnorid has stopped sending goods to the neighbouring town, and the traders who went to look never came back. The local lord sends a warrior to find out what happened. You are that warrior.

The road. A narrow forest road, an abandoned cart, a trader's note.
The square. Empty houses and a cold fire. A wounded villager warns you not to go underground.
The first fight. A villager in the street turns around. The camera moves to your shoulder.
The elder's house. Find the key, read the documents, and set three symbols in the right order to open the cellar.
The dungeon. Almost no light but your torch. A room of bodies around an altar, and one of them moves.
The guardian. Touch the altar and something enormous wakes. Dodge, block, strike. Take the artifact.
The end. The sun rises over the village. This was only the first of the legends.

You win

Defeat the guardian, take the artifact and leave the dungeon.

You lose

Your health reaches zero. You carry on from the last checkpoint with the story as it was.

Fighting

A block stops most of a blow from the front, but only half of the guardian's overhead blow. A roll gives a moment in which nothing can hurt you.
Every attack is announced by a red mark on the floor and a wind-up. Learn to read them.
The guardian has three attacks: a heavy blow from above, a wide sweep and a rush straight at you.
You have 120 health. A healing potion gives 50, and there are two on the way.

Keyboard and mouse. The game saves at checkpoints, on your PC.

More legends to come

New independent stories will use the same systems: The Last Defender, a fortress under siege; The Lost Temple, ruins, puzzles and an ancient artifact; The Black Forest, a hunter searching for missing people; and The Fall of the King, betrayal and the fight for the throne.

Part of the world of Temnorid

Today Temnorid Legends is a separate offline game: it does not need an account or an internet connection. Every Temnorid game will later connect to Lords.

Download the installer and run it.
Windows may warn about an unknown publisher, because the installer is not signed yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
Start Temnorid Legends from the Start menu.

Requires Windows 10 or later, 64-bit. All releases and release notes: GitHub Releases.
